School Finance Support Services

When you need additional support with your school’s finance, we are here to help.  We can support your existing Business/Finance Manager or undertake financial tasks they would usually complete in their absence.

Our highly skilled team have many years’ experience both working in schools and in providing support, training, and consultancy for school Business and Finance Managers. We are able to provide remote and onsite support, to exactly meet your needs.


Temporary Finance Management Support

From time to time, you may find yourself temporarily without a Finance Manager. We can help by providing experienced part-time temporary support. We will undertake the critical financial activities necessary to ensure the smooth running of your school for as long as you need us.

Finance Mentoring

We are happy to provide a finance mentoring service for your Business/Finance Manager should they require a little extra help and guidance. This type of professional development can serve to increase confidence levels and offer an experienced point of escalation and support for more challenging tasks.

Month End Support

We can provide full month end support and reconciliation services that cover: Payroll; Bank reconciliation; Petty cash reconciliation; Online payment system reconciliation; VAT reports and; MER completion (Cambridgeshire schools only).

Audit of School Finance Practices

Our experienced staff will review your financial processes, identifying areas for improvement, in order to help you become more efficient, saving time and money. We will examine your banking, payroll control, VAT and finance system structure. After the review we will provide a report of our key findings and recommendations for improvement.


Newly Appointed Business/Finance Manager Induction

We can provide an experienced finance mentor for your newly appointed Business/Finance Manager to support their induction during their first few weeks in the school. We will cover everything they need to know to hit the ground running, with a particular focus on financial processes, systems and statutory requirements.

 

New Headteacher Guidance

If you are a new headteacher and new to financial management, we can take you through the procedures that are required to be carried out on a monthly basis within your school. We will explain the key reports and clarify the associated financial regulations. We will also familiarise you with the finance system itself.

We are very happy to help with the recruitment of a new Business/Finance Manager at your school. This can be as little as assessing applications to participating in interview panels and critically evaluating candidates.
