Helplines EXTRA: Update – CTF Issue
Article published: 11 July 2019
Capita have released Patch 25040, which should prevent possible corruption of contact details (in very rare circumstances) when CTFs are imported.
This Patch has been released to Locally Hosted schools on Solus 3 and has been applied to our Centrally Hosted schools.
Schools should now check whether any contacts’ data in SIMS could have become corrupted.
Has your school imported any CTF files between 1 April 2019 and the application of patch 25040 on 8 April 2019? If the answer to this question is no, then your data will not be affected and you do not need to carry out any further checks.
If the answer is yes, but you never import contact details (i.e the Contacts box is un-ticked when importing a CTF), again your data will be unaffected.
Download the document ‘CTF Issue June 2019 – Customer Frequently Asked Questions’ and see question 3, to check whether you imported any CTFs during the stated time period.
An additional Patch 25058 has been released to Locally Hosted schools and applied to Centrally Hosted schools. This patch will activate Check 100 in Database diagnostics. Running Database Diagnostics will identify any contact details that may have been affected. Download the document ‘How to Identify and Correct Data Impacted by the CTF Import Incident’ which describes the process in detail.
The scenario that could give rise to data having been corrupted is quite rare, so hopefully few, if any schools will have been affected.
