Regulator Ofcom to have more powers over UK social media

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) and the Home Office have provided an initial response to the Online Harms White Paper consultation, which ran from April to July 2019. The Government proposes to grant new powers to Ofcom to regulate social media in order to protect users from harmful and illegal content.
