Report: Access Denied - How end-to-end encryption threatens children's safety online
15th December 2020
The Children’s Commissioner has released its report into the risks of end-to-end encryption to children using popular messaging apps such as WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. It again highlights the need for tech firms to be able to identify children’s accounts and apply appropriate privacy and security rules which strikes the balance between keeping children’s data safe whilst allowing law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute crimes such as online child sexual abuse.
