Audience/Keystage...
SENDCo / Interventions Lead, and Administration staff involved in the recording of the statutory SEND information in SIMS
Pre-requisites...
SIMS login desirable but can be set up before the event. Awareness of SEN and the interventions that your school needs to record and report on.

Overview...
Learn this ‘easy to use’ module in SIMS in order to support your school better than ever before.
This course explores the functionality of SEN in SIMS to enable you to use it effectively and efficiently in relation to the SEN code of practice. As well as reviewing the basic functionalities required for School Census, you will be able to record the details of reviews, events and provisions for pupils. You will also be able to customise the choices you have for recording provision, events and identify key people working with pupils.
During the workshop, we will provide an overview of the Interventions package included in SIMS. We will look at setting up interventions for any group of students in your school; thereafter, you will be able to define your targets and the judgements against which you are going to show progress, as well as record attendance against the number of sessions in the intervention. This will enable you to analyse the effectiveness of the interventions and the range of interventions that you are running.
This workshop will benefit all staff in the school, as not only will all this information be held Centrally, in one place and easy to use and review for all staff concerned. It will save countless hours of work upon a request from a parent to see all their child’s educational record.
