Dates, times and venues...
No dates currently set: Ask us about delivering this course in school as a Consultancy Session, or as a remote session by clicking the link below...
Audience/Keystage...
Headteachers, Assessment Coordinators, Foundation Teachers, or Administrative Personnel. Those responsible for submitting the Statutory Foundation Stage Return. Those considering using EYFS in SIMS instead of the package they are currently using.
Pre-requisites...
It is essential for attendees to have a good basic understanding of the latest Development Matters in the Early Years Foundation (EYFS) framework www.education.gov.uk/eyfs (as this is not part of the workshop training). It would be useful if prior to attendance delegates have a log in for SIMS and correct permissions set. Working on your own data can be offered to both Centrally Hosted schools and those running SIMS in school (locally hosted). However, the setup for locally hosted schools must be organised in advance. If you are not sure of the setup required please contact The ICT Service Helpline 0300 300 0000 using option 1, 2-3 days in advance of your session.

Overview...
This is a ‘hands on’ workshop, using your own school data, allowing delegates to not only update their knowledge and the existing software but to feedback their experiences and discuss with colleagues best practice and effective use of this new module. There will be detailed demonstrations of analysis as well as full step by step guidance materials that have been specifically created for workshop delegates. We will also be introducing some additional resources such as End of Summer Term Individual Reports.
Objectives...
- Review of current / existing resources
- Overview of new resources now available
- Updating existing software
- Setting up of additional marksheets etc (if new users)
- Analysis – using marksheets and grids
- Additional resources update (Reports)
- Getting ready for the Statutory Return
- Networking opportunity
Upon successful completion of the course all delegates will have greater ability to analyse the data previously entered using marksheets and tracking grids. Delegates will be able to run individual reports that complement all the end of term data. The reports can be attached to pupil records in SIMS .net. Reporting to Parents arrangements can all be completed easily and efficiently too.
Delegates will be able to accurately produce and submit Foundation Stage Returns in order to meet local authority requirements.
