Accessibility – Supporting Independence: Vital for some. Valuable for all.
Join us on Your Apple Teacher journey with this FREE online session.
We all want our students to be independent both with their learning and in their futures.
This course will take you through some of the accessibility features of the iPad and how they can support children with SEND, to potentially become more independent in their learning and their lives. With budgets reducing and needs increasing, is it time to think differently about how we support some students with SEND?
We will cover:
- What is meant by the term accessibility?
- The main accessibility features of the iPad.
- Getting a better understanding of how these tools could be used to support students with SEND in our classes.
- Learning how to make the most use out of the technology we already have in supporting students with SEND.
We will also explore accessibility that is already around us and explore the concept of ‘evening up the playing field’. We will look at how we can support those growing number of students on school support as well as those with EHCPs.
We will look at how other schools are supporting students with SEND and how you can access materials from existing teachers through Apple Books.
We will discuss what simple steps can we take to make learning easier for some learners? You will have some time to start to think ‘outside of the box’ when supporting children with SEND.
