The school website nowadays is an important ‘shop window’, crucial for communicating with current and future parents, pupils and others.

Your website tells visitors much about the school and its values, ethos and successes. It should be a positive reflection of your school and part of your strategy for communicating with all groups - particularly parents, to help involve them in their children’s learning.
 
Whilst having the right information in an appealing and accessible format is essential, schools are also required to provide certain information online and Ofsted will review a school’s website as part of an inspection.
 
It is widely recognised that when schools and parents work together, children do better. The ICT Service strongly recommends that you regularly review both your own online provision and that of others – other schools and commercial businesses too. This process can help to inform your vision and development plan, ensuring that your website provides well-organised, up-to-date information and content that presents your school in the way you wish it to be seen, whilst also considering the demands and challenges faced by busy school practitioners.
