Your switched infrastructure is an essential part of your school’s network. Older hardware in your switched infrastructure is a likely cause of:

The expectations of network performance in schools to deliver teaching and learning enabled by technology means that speed of access now needs to increase to ensure precious time is not wasted.
 
The increased use of technology in schools is putting more pressure on the older existing hardware in your switched infrastructure.
 
 

The solution



Replacement of this infrastructure could be managed with a costeffective and flexible subscription agreement for hardware and support, negotiated by The ICT Service especially for our school customers or it can potentially be an expensive undertaking to buy outright.
 
Without a replacement strategy the school's staff output can be expected to suffer as technology is further relied upon in classrooms and office spaces.

Frequently asked questions about the subscription agreement for switches



How is the subscription agreement different from a lease?
Leasing is a means of financing a purchase over a fixed term and might include support, deposit, finance changes, and penalties for early termination. This subscription agreement via The ICT Service has no deposit fees, no fixed term, and no penalties for early termination. This subscription agreement also provides use of equipment with no title transfer.
 
Does a school have the option to purchase network equipment they have acquired via the subscription agreement?
Yes. At any time a school can purchase outright network equipment obtained via the subscription agreement and The ICT Service can prepare a quote upon request.
 
Can a school upgrade or refresh products provided as part of the subscription agreement?
Yes. To upgrade or refresh products, the school would simply initiate a new subscription agreement schedule. Since there are no termination or deposit fees, the new subscription agreement schedule does not result in a penalty or hidden fees to the school. However, the new monthly payment may be adjusted based on the overall cost, increase in performance, features, and capabilities of the upgraded products.
 
How would a school terminate a subscription agreement?
The school would contact The ICT Service providing 90 days’ written notice of the intent to terminate. All equipment must be returned in good condition, with only normal wear and tear.
