EWO Reports – 90% or less attendance

Audience: Primary, Nursery, Special and Secondary Schools

A number of schools have received email requests from Education Welfare Officers asking for the following information:

  • Students’ attendance 90% and below, with the majority of the absence being unauthorised
  • Dates of birth for those students
  • Their attendance
  • Percentage of unauthorised absence
This information can now be drawn out of SIMS in one easy report.

The report file will download as a ZIP file – save the zip file in a safe place; right-click on the file and click on Extract Here. The report definition file EWO Reports – 90% or less attendance.RptDef will now be extracted and ready to import into SIMS.

Download this report from the Learn Together Hub.

Log into SIMS, click on Reports | Import, click on Open, find the EWO Reports file you have just extracted, click on it to select it, and then click on Open. Click on Import and allow a few seconds for the report to import.

Once the report has been imported, you can run this in SIMS via Reports | Run Report | Focus | Student – you should see this new report:

90% or Less Attendance – High Unauth

The default date range will be set to cover the recent Autumn Term (1 September to 31 December 2016), but you can change these dates before running the report. There is also a standard 90% or Less Attendance report included which will show all pupils with 90% or less attendance during a specified date range, regardless of absence type.

If you require any assistance with running the reports, please contact The ICT Servicer Helpline on 0300 300 0000 or email support@theictservice.org.uk
