Purpose: Notification of Christmas closedown period
Audience: All Schools

As this term draws to a close, all of us here at The ICT Service hope that you are looking forward to a cheerful and restful break over the Christmas Holidays. 
We are looking forward to 2017!  We have a packed term of training opportunities and will be continuing to deliver our high standard of support and service that your school needs. 
The ICT Service will be closed during the Christmas Holidays.
Our Helpline staff will be taking calls up until close of business on Friday 23 December 2016 on 0300 300 0000, after which time The ICT Service will close for the Christmas period.
Thereafter you will be able to leave a voicemail or email and we will respond when we return on Tuesday 3 January 2017.

New Platinum Unit for ACE (Accredited Competence in E-Safety)

Purpose: Information for schools using the ACE scheme of work
Audience: Primary schools and Starz+ subscribing schools.

All Starz+ subscribing schools and those who have purchased the ACE scheme of work should now have received an electronic copy of the Platinum Unit for ACE.

Story Circles - Collaborative Project, Spring Term 2017

Purpose: Reminder - Collaboration project - sign up now for Spring Term 2017
Audience: Foundation and KS1 class teachers

Registration is now open for the Spring Term 2017 Story Circles Project. 
Join with other classes, beyond your own school, to compose a story in four parts by passing it around a circle.
Focussing on the genre of 'Fairy Stories and Traditional Tales', this project helps to develop children’s understanding of story elements – beginning, middle, end, character development and sequencing of events.


Purple Mash Advent Calendar 'Treats'

Purpose: For Information
Audience: Primary Schools subscribing to Purple Mash

Purple Mash added an Advent Calendar to all Home Pages at the start of the month.  Each day a new treat appears on the calendar, something to exercise the creative talents of the children and help develop digital literacy in the process.

The Capturing Creativity Conference, organised by the ELearning Team at The ICT Service, will explore the 'palette of possibilities' technology offers to primary school practitioners.
Join us for an exciting and inspiring day of workshops and activities.
Workshops include:

  • Introduction to 3D Design & Printing

Central Hosting Downtime - Saturday 10 December 2016 & Saturday 14 January 2017

Purpose: Reminder of scheduled downtime information
Audience: School staff using Centrally Hosted Systems

On Saturday 10 December 2016 and 14 January 2017 The ICT Service will be carrying out scheduled maintenance on Centrally Hosted Systems.
The following systems will therefore be unavailable between 7.00am and approximately 11.00pm on Saturday 10 December 2016 and 14 January 2017:
  • Centrally Hosted Email (Email sent to accounts during this time will still be delivered)
  • Remote Access
  • School based systems via Remote Access
  • Video Conferencing
