Capita Charges for 2016-17

Purpose: Information about charges for Capita software
Audience: Maintained Schools using Capita products (SIMS, FMS, Dinner Money)

Each year, schools are required to pay Capita for the use of their products (annual maintenance/entitlement).  This charge is consolidated for maintained schools and recharged to schools by The ICT Service as part of the invoice for subscription services.  This year the charge is calculated as follows:

  • SIMS including FMS   £180 + £3.15 per pupil
  • Dinner Money   £260 + £0.30 per pupil
Although this money is collected by The ICT Service it passes directly back to Capita.  Note that other Capita products like Agora and InTouch are mostly invoiced direct by Capita.

These charges do not pay for any additional services provided by The ICT Service (such as access to The Helpline 0300 300 0000)

For any further information please call us on 0300 300 0000 or email support@theictservice.org.uk

The FMS Roadshows are now a regular event (taking place annually for the past three years), but for those who haven’t been before you may be wondering what it’s all about and why you should attend.

Well …  Every year The ICT Service brings to you the FMS Roadshow to provide you with details of new developments within FMS and new ways of tackling things.

Unlike the ‘Finance Forums’ run by Education Finance, we specialise in just FMS and related products and we can show you how FMS can support the financial processes required of both maintained schools and academies.

Here’s a list of some of the topics covered:

  • Reports within FMS and how to interpret them.
  • New developments / services - including the use of both credit and debit cards and the easiest way to deal with them quickly and efficiently using new software available in FMS.
  • A walk through the fast approaching year end and system tidy!
  • Pupil Premium and a way of recording and proving.
  • Barclays 3 Day Payments rollout – the process.
  • HCSS  Presentation of the FRS  Reporting Suite and the Budgeting Tool
  • Hints and tips, forthcoming developments, good practice and efficiencies.
We are very happy to be welcoming back guest speakers from HCSS Education, a leading education finance specialist and SIMS partnership company.  Back by popular demand are:

  • Dan Young -  Head of Business Development   HCSS
  • Paul Prophet - Key Account Manager
Many Cambridgeshire academies use their products, as do 32 other authorities and over 4000 LA schools and 2000 academies.  Find out more about them here.

Specialising in:
FRS - Reports | Financial Reporting Suite
A module that, using data from FMS6, allows you to produce high quality financial management reports.
HCSS Budgeting
A powerful budget planning and forecasting tool used by over 2000 academies, 4000 schools, 31 local authorities

Nova T6 Timetablers Workshop - Monday 29 February 2016

Purpose: Reminder - Workshop Booking Now Available
Audience: All Secondary School Timetablers

  • Are you a secondary school Timetabler already thinking about your timetable for next year?
  • Are you going to be doing something different?
  • Do you want to spend time on your timetable away from the pressures of your everyday work at school?
  • Would you like to spend time discussing your plans with colleagues who understand timetables and how the timetabling software works?
If your answer to any of these questions is 'yes' then the Nova T6 workshop is for you.

Run specifically for Timetablers, the workshop will provide an opportunity for you to spend time with other Timetablers and to work on your timetable away from your school.

We know that most colleagues who construct school timetables using Nova T6 are already expert users of the software so this workshop is not run as a training course. This means that you don’t need to worry about wasting your time acquiring knowledge that you already have.

If you are thinking about introducing a new aspect to your timetable then colleagues will be on hand who will be able to support you as necessary and show you how to use features of Nova T6 that you might not have used before.
