Reminder - Signing up to Services for 2016-17

Purpose: Reminder - Information about annual signup for services from The ICT Service
Audience:  All Cambridgeshire Maintained Primary, Special and Nursery Schools 

Thank you to all the Cambridgeshire maintained schools that have now completed the online form and are signed up to services for 2016-17.

This year’s Guide contains full details about services and support provided by The ICT Service.  We aim to ensure that you have all the information you need to cover your school’s requirements, including:
  • Annual Support Package Options - Core, Enhanced, EnhancedPlus AND the NEW EnhancedPlus Bundles – our most comprehensive support packages for schools
  • New Discounted Consultancy and Training Session Bundles, including SIMS New User and FMS New User Bundles.

Dinner Money - Set up the New Catering Year

Purpose: Reminder to set up a new catering year in Dinner Money
Audience: All primary schools using the Dinner Money module

The new catering year in Dinner Money begins on Monday 4 April 2016.  The start date of the catering year determines the week numbers on the CAT forms so it is very important that you set up the new catering year in Dinner Money well in advance. 
To set up the new catering year in SIMS go to Tools | Dinner Money | Setup and in Panel 2 Catering Returns click on the New button.  In the Add/Edit Catering Year screen please type in the following information:
Name: 2016/2017
Catering Date: 04/04/2016
Frequency: Weekly
Repeat Every: Monday
Click on OK and then click on the Save icon at the top left of your screen.  This will ensure that when you return from the Easter break your CAT form will correctly display week 2.

Story Circles - Collaborative Project 

Purpose:  Invitation to read the stories
Audience: All Primary classroom staff

Three classes of young pupils from Holywell Primary School took part in the Spring Term Story Circles project.  In collaboration with The ICT Service ELearning Team, they completed a chapter a week for four different stories, focussing on various elements of stories - beginning, middle and end, characters and vocabulary.

Save the Date for the Impulse Conferences 2016

Purpose:  Dates now released for the Impulse Conferences 2016
Audience: Headteachers, Deputy Heads and Senior Leaders in Primary Schools

The 2016 Impulse Conferences have been scheduled, so please save the dates and book your places online. 
We shall announce a detailed agenda after the Easter Break but do remember that the conferences are a great CPD opportunity, to hear all about making use of the all the data at your disposal, how to turn it into useful management information for school improvement, and to network with your peers.  As always we will have presentations from schools sharing their own journeys and good practice.
This year's Impulse conferences will take place on:
  • Tuesday 7 June 2016, 1.30 - 4.00pm at CPDC, Cambirdge
  • Tuesday 14 June 2016, 1.30 - 4.00pm at South Fens Business Centre, Chatteris.

Central Hosting Downtime: Saturday 9 April 2016

Purpose: Reminder of scheduled downtime information Saturday 9 April 2016
Audience: School staff using Centrally Hosted Systems

On Saturday 9 April 2016 The ICT Service will be carrying out scheduled maintenance on Centrally Hosted Systems.
The following systems will therefore be unavailable between 7.00am and approximately 7.00pm on Saturday 9 April 2016:
  • Centrally Hosted Email (Email sent to accounts during this time will still be delivered)
  • Remote Access
  • School based systems via Remote Access
  • Video Conferencing
