The ICT service

Providing regular in-school support at Weatheralls Primary School, Soham, Cambridgeshire


Weatheralls Primary School makes use of a number of services provided by The ICT Service to ensure that they have, and maintain, a secure and sustainable infrastructure for learning, teaching and school management.


The school has engaged The ICT Service to conduct technical visits on a regular basis by sending a dedicated and skilled ICT technician to work alongside the school’s own ICT technician at scheduled times. 


This operational set-up ensures that the school has a seamless support system across the whole school site and that the maintenance and upkeep of systems and hardware is managed in a timely manner. 


During these regular visits the ICT Service technician identifies priorities for the school and achieves a balance of mandatory checks, system maintenance and requests logged by staff at the school.


Additionally, The ICT Service was approached when new and replacement equipment was needed.  Staff at the school consulted with The ICT Service sales and procurement team, The ICT Service curriculum advisers and their ICT Service technician to secure the best and most cost effective solutions.


Teaching staff at Weatheralls Primary School also engage The ICT Service for both in-school consultancy and training courses to ensure that they keep abreast of local and national initiatives related to the use of technology.


On request, The ICT Service curriculum team have led staff meetings on a number of subject areas including:

  • Planning a technology-rich curriculum
  • Using your interactive whiteboard
  • Programming at Key Stages 1 and 2
  • E-safety
  • Making the best use of your online learning platform
  • Filmmaking.
